CFE Polska becomes a strategic partner of the third PLGBC Green Building Symposium, Green Expo and Green Awards Gala

June 2011

Between 15-18 November 2011, the PLGBC Green Building Symposium, Expo & Gala, an international conference and green building trade fair will take place in Cracow. The event will host the WorldGBC Europe Regional Network Meeting and the international conference BuildGreenCEE.

PLGBC Green Building Symposium, Expo & Gala was the first event in Poland which managed to integrate the entire construction market in Poland, the private sector together with local authorities, NGOs and the scientific environment – and has been doing it for the past 3 years.

Over 4 days, the PLGBC will provide the highest quality networking meetings, lectures, presentations and training sessions on the wide topic of sustainable development – from green public procurements, through EU regulations related to ecological construction and CO2 emissions, to specific design solutions, case studies from our country and abroad and detailed training on multiple-criteria building certification.

16 November will be devoted to cooperation of the private sector with the government, the goal of which is creation of a common pro-ecological policy. Paul King – the CEO of UKGBC and a Member of the WorldGBC Management, and Steven Borncamp – Founding President and CEO of RoGBC have confirmed their participation as well as GBC members from 30 countries.

The meeting will be organised under patronage of the World Green Bulding Council, which groups GBC organisations from 86 countries. PLGBC is the only organisation in Poland with membership in the WorldGBC, and one of the few in Europe on the fourth, highest membership level.

PLGBC Green Building Symposium, Expo & Gala has the honour of being supported by the Minister of Infrastructure, the American and Australian Embassies, the German Consulate in Cracow, the Chief Environment Protection Inspectorate, Marek Sowa – the Marshal of Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Stanisław Kracik – the Lesser Poland Voivode, Jacek Majchrowski – the Mayor of Cracow, and the Cracow University of Technology.

Advanced talks are in progress with many other embassies of countries in which organisations from the WorldGBC Europe Regional Network operate, as well as with leading schools of higher education. On 17 and 18 November, guests of the conference will have the opportunity to participate in training in LEED and BREEAM certification in Poland. The sessions will be led by leaders of the Polish market, from companies: WSP Enviro, Grontmij and VvS | Architects & Consultants, some of the few professional companies on the Polish market possessing qualifications and practical experience in those systems of certification.

The annual PLGBC awards will be handed out on the Gala of 16 November. Additional information on the event can be found on the PLGBC website: www.plgbc.org.
